Meet the Candidate
Born and raised in Turlock. A candidate for Mayor with deep roots, a clear plan, and a long-term vision worthy of this city's people.

"WHAT WE DO WITH OUR TIME — HOW WE SERVE, WHAT WE BUILD, AND WHAT WE LEAVE BEHIND — IS WHAT GIVES LIFE MEANING."
— Jeremy Rocha
I was born and raised in Turlock, the city that shaped my life, my values, and my sense of responsibility. I am a third-generation Turlock High School graduate, and my roots here are not abstract. They are personal. This is where I went to school, where my family's story was built, and where I first came to understand the importance of community, work, service, and belonging.
My path has not been one of shortcuts. I have spent much of my life trying to understand how people, places, and institutions rise — and why they sometimes fall short of what they could become. That search led me to earn a bachelor's degree in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration from CSU Stanislaus, where I studied government not as a distant theory, but as a practical tool for improving lives.
At 23, I ran for Turlock City Council because I believed then, as I believe now, that public service should be about more than holding office. It should be about purpose. In that race, I finished within a few percentage points of winning a seat.
Over the years, I have continued serving and staying involved in the civic life of our region. I have served on Turlock's Parks, Arts, and Recreation Commission and on the StanCOG Citizen Advisory Committee, gaining firsthand experience with local government, transportation, planning, public process, and the challenges facing our city and region. I also founded a media company focused on California news, politics, public policy, and culture — because I believe the Central Valley deserves a stronger voice in shaping its own story.
My campaign for Mayor is rooted in a simple belief: Turlock does not lack potential. It needs direction, discipline, and a long-term vision worthy of its people.
That is why I created The Turlock Horizon — a comprehensive plan to move our city forward with purpose, structure, and ambition. It is built around transparent government, stronger infrastructure, educational excellence, a more dynamic regional economy, and a renewed commitment to community life. It is not a promise that everything happens overnight. It is a roadmap to ensure Turlock no longer governs without a destination.
I believe leadership is not about claiming credit, settling scores, or managing the status quo. Leadership is the willingness to make difficult decisions, tell the truth respectfully, learn from the past, and work for the greatest good of the greatest number.
This campaign is about building a city where families can stay, where young people can see a future, where public service is held to a higher standard, where growth is managed with purpose, and where residents share in the success they help create.
Turlock has deep roots. But deep roots were never meant to keep us still. They were meant to give us the strength to grow.
Together, we can make Turlock the economic, educational, and entertainment capital of the Central Valley — a regional hub of innovation, opportunity, and growth. Working in partnership with our neighbors and strengthened by our shared progress, the Central Valley can help lead California's comeback. And there is no better place for that renewal to begin than in its heart.
I would be honored to earn your trust and the opportunity to serve as your mayor as we move toward a new horizon for Turlock and our Valley. I am running for Mayor because I believe Turlock is ready to define excellence and build the future. So let us, together, allow our deep roots to give us the strength to pursue high hopes and reach for the horizon.
